BEHOLDER Game Review

Since the day it was released, Beholder always managed to gain more fans everyday. But how good actually is this indie adventure? Time to answer, let's get into it.

Beholder is actually a pretty short game. Even with the Dlc expansion, Blissful Sleep, the game it at most 4-6 hours long in your first completed playthrough. I know, it seems like a problem, but it's really not. Since the game is a choice based strategy game, you can always start a new game, and do things you didn't do in your previous playthrough, and you will get a different ending. Every choice adds up to your fate in Beholder. Even though the ultimate goal is to get the ending which everyone lives happily ever after, you really have to push hard to get that one. So you can relax, you will experience at least 3-4 playthroughs, which means 15-20 hours of gameplay before you get to be the hero of the village, and quit. Since there's nothing else to do after you get the ending you wanted.

The tasks are not repetitive, every task, with minor similarities, is unique, different. Though still, the game doesn't change massively in every single playthrough. It's always the same plot, you just choose your role in the story. Totally normal, but the main reason for the lost interest of players after the first playthrough.

Graphics are a pro for Beholder. With it's unique, mediocre graphic style, and smart animations, Beholder looks amazing. Sound choice for Beholder is pretty decent, and works just fine. From the futuristic method for talking to creating unique dialogues, Beholder takes a long walk in the ball park. The top notch gameplay is more than enough and keeps the gamer in the story at all times. It's hard not to wonder about what will happen next. Gamers will find it difficult to have a real life until they finish this one, probably in one sitting. (me,me me)

In the end, Beholder is for sure one of the key games in history of it's kind. Even though it's not that long, it still offers you quite a good time. Graphics are unique, and gameplay is solid. Try it out!
